TR, Saipem, Samsung E&C well positionedWhile the Tecnicas Reunidas has submitted the lowest bids on the Haradh and Hawiyah gas compression stations and the Hawiyah gas plant, Saipem and Samsung E&C are also well positioned to win the Hawiyah gas plant work. The new gas compression plants and the expansion of the Hawiyah gas plant are expected to cost more than USD 4bn and are expected to be awarded next month. The projects are expected to expand the processing capacity at Hawiyah by 1.3bn cubic feet per day from the current 2.5bn cfd of gas.

Aramco sees progress on oil-to-chemicalSaudi Aramco is expected to decide its plan for the joint oil-to-chemicals project with Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) by the end of 2017. Saudi Aramco's Chief Executive Officer Amin Nasser stated on the sidelines of an investment conference in Riyadh, “We finished the feasibility. We are at a stage where we need to work together and make some decision about proceeding with the project with SABIC. Things are looking good so far so hopefully we will be meeting soon and making an announcement.”
